BROTHER FRED JACKSON
Brother Fred Jackson is a Southern California native who has focused on real estate planning and development throughout his career. His 25 years in the industry bring experience in comprehensive urban planning, economic development, redevelopment, and residential and commercial development. Brother Jackson received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and his Master’s in Public Administration from Baruch College in New York, where he was a National Urban Fellow. He is the Assistant General Manager of the Economic Development Division for the Economic and Workforce Development Department of the City of Los Angeles.
Brother Jackson is committed to the advancement of our community. He has been a member and/or held leadership roles in Boys Scouts of America, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, former President of the South LA Area Planning Commission, Block Captain for the Buckingham Road Neighbors, President of the Victoria Square Neighborhood Association, board member of the Good Shephard Housing Development Corporation, board member of the Alpha Community Education Initiative, California Association for Local Economic Development, and many other organizations.
As a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Brother Jackson’s love and devotion for the Fraternity is as strong as the moment that he first saw the "Light of Alpha" on March 4, 1989. He was initiated into the Iota Psi Chapter where he served as Vice President and President as well as Assistant District Director. After graduation from Cal Poly Pomona, Brother Jackson immediately joined Eta Pi Lambda Chapter in Pasadena, California, where he served as Secretary, Vice President, President, and as an Area Director. He has served in various leadership roles at the chapter, district and regional levels of the Fraternity, most recently as the immediate past Southern California District Director.
Brother Jackson resides in the Wellington Square neighborhood of Los Angeles with his wife - Joanna Jackson, son – William Jackson, and daughter – Jade Jackson.

Brother Jackson is campaigning to become the next Western Regional Vice President because of his deep passion and love for our Fraternity. He brings extensive leadership experience, both within our Brotherhood and beyond. His vision centers on (re)building bridges in AlphaWest through initiative that are focused on Brotherhood, Reclamation, Innovation, Development, Growth, Engagement, and Sustainability. He aims to establish strategic partnerships, enhance our programs, and create a lasting positive impact on the lives of our Brothers, their families, and the communities we serve.
